Experienced Package
The Experienced Package focuses on hands-on instruction inspired by law enforcement training. This package includes two lessons totaling in 5 hours of training and is designed for students who already have their drivers license or do not want assistance with preparing for the Missouri Highway Patrol Driver’s License Exam.
Students will start on main roads for their Tier 2: Proactive Tactical Driving lesson. After completion, students will advance to the Tier 3: Real-Life Tactical Driving Course where they will be trained to respond to real-life emergency situations.

Advanced Law Enforcement Driver Training Course For New Drivers.
At the 10-81 Driving Academy, we believe students learn best in a calm environment. Our instructors are current and former law enforcement professionals who regularly handle high-pressure situations with confidence and composure. Compared to what they face on duty, guiding a new driver is a welcome change — and their ability to remain steady, patient, and focused creates an ideal learning atmosphere for your teen
Tier 2: (Main Roads / Interstate / Identify and Respond to Threats) – For students with more than 20 hours of driving experience
Move beyond basics and develop a Proactive Tactical Driving mindset
This course is designed by law enforcement officers for the new driver who needs guided experience but has more than 20 hours of driving experience. Students begin immediately on main roads where they are trained in the following:
Navigating large intersections
Scanning intersections and identifying threats.
How to respond to threats when they are presented
Identifying hazards before they happen
Identifying and addressing distracted and drunk driving
Merging
Interstate driving
Downtown Kansas City highways
Tier 3: (Parking Lot / Advanced Vehicle Control/ Decision-Making Under Pressure)
Tier 3 is the most advanced level of training offered at 10-81 Driving Academy. This course is built around nine structured, law-enforcement-based driving exercises, each designed to teach critical vehicle control skills and clearly translate them to real-life driving situations.
Students are not simply exposed to scenarios — they are thoroughly trained through repeated, instructor-guided exercises that build confidence, precision, and decision-making under pressure.
Throughout the course, students complete and master all nine exercises:
Emergency Lane Change – Safely steering around sudden obstacles without losing control
Serpentine – Developing precise steering control, smooth handling, and spatial awareness
Straight Line Braking – Learning proper stopping distances and controlled emergency braking at increasing speeds
Brake Right / Brake Left – Combining hard braking with split-second directional decisions
U-Turns – Executing controlled turns in limited space while maintaining awareness
Threshold Braking – Braking effectively without activating ABS when full-force braking isn’t appropriate
Rear-End Avoidance Maneuver (REAM) – Avoiding a simulated rear-end collision while stopped
Reverse Driving – Improving distance judgment, mirror use, and vehicle control in reverse
The Funnel – Navigating tight spaces at increasing speeds to reinforce precision and control
Each exercise is repeatedly practiced and then directly connected to real-world driving scenarios such as debris in the roadway, sudden stops, intersection conflicts, distracted drivers, and emergency decision-making.
